AH BENG HANDPHONE SHOP TECHNO PLAYLIST
Honestly, I made this playlist on a whim while working because this was the type of music I grew up hearing on the streets. For those not from Singapore, I’ve left a screenshot of what google says the definition of an “ah beng” is.
It got picked up by facebook groups, and news sites like Mothership. Probably because it resonated with an important part of Singaporean culture which isn’t always shown in mainstream media.
What did I get from this? Nothing except satisfaction and ah beng representation. Oh, and couple copycat playlists + producers reaching out to me on FB to include their songs on my playlist. LOL
